As I have mentioned before we've got presentation on Saturday. There was quite interesting process for presenting and evaluating projects. None of participants thought there would be an evaluation mark for the presentation so almost all of the teams didn't prepare for that :) We had 5 teams at all. Surprisingly, our project "Fuel Prices" won the first place! We have collected 9.5 points for the project and 3.5 for presentation. Actually, during the presentation, the bank's web service was down so we couldn't demonstrate all our system possibilities. Nevertheless, we were evaluated as "numero uno".

Nice to see we have our nice looking wiki. Thanks for all people who have done it from the bottom of their hearts :P Everything seems working and all the web services are deployed, so the only thing remains - wait for for the presentation on Saturday, the 26 of May. Good luck!

[edit] Deployement success! We have new beta user interface online

At last I succeeded in deploying our main Web service 2. I spent all evening today and now you can access it on my private home desktop PC. I had to register my dynamic "teo" IP address, but this was done easily with DynDNS. So now Web service 2 - "Fuel aggregator" - resides on my private PC, WS1 is deployed on Ubuntu server called "nebludyk.lt" and those two interact easily. Beta user interface is also stored in my pc, so I can easily develop it. The problem is sometimes my home PC gets disconnected from the internet causing you not to be able to browse cheapest fuel prices :)

It's cool to hear we have got web service working (thanks to Laimis). Others also are not sleaping. Andrius is developing user editable price interface, whereas I have just launched a parser for Lukoil which collects the data and then uses Laimis' web service to insert all data into the database. Everything works just cool! Let's discuss everything concerning our project in the project page.

[edit] Insurance system idea is dropped!

So, We had idea about Insurance system. I have bad news. There are some insurance companies which already have system like our discussed. There are no more point to do this us. Laimis mentioned, that this idea already doomed. At this point, we need to think about new ideas and as soon as posible we need NEW IDEA. We need realize service with XML, analysis and so on... Laimis has new idea - electricity supply, water-supply, canalization and other... Anyway... All information supply which would be usefull when building house and need information about all these things... People think about this and other ideas... it is urgent. May 12 is the end off the project! Hurry up all...

[edit] Sintagma refuses to give access to "BIURAS" service

I had a nice conversation with Almantas Juozulynas main "BIURAS" project chief in Sintagma. We discused if there is a possibility to get students access to "BIURAS" service and use it for our project. He mentioned that this way will be hard and take quite long time. So I think we should try to take this way as faster as we can, but also think about "BIURAS" fake service building on real specifications. So that we could swich fake service to real if we had access to it. Almantas Juozulynas could help us only this at the moment.

[edit] The idea of project - at last! Insurance system

During today's lecture's break we gathered all together and thought some ideas about project. Laimis suggested great idea about making "Insurance" system. The main point of this project is to let users get insurance for the vehicle right after filling correct form in the web and paying appropriate fee by transferring money to the bank. Of course, SOA will be involved in:

• getting information about insurer's faults (car accidents etc.) from web service called "biuras" :)
• calculating the price for the insurance from using insurance company's web service and above information
• transmitting appropriate amount of money into the bank using bank's service

At last I configured and made it alive MediaWiki in two languages. So as you can see, we're now able to communicate in [lt] and [en]. This was done by running two separate web pages (http://en.wiki.nebludyk.lt and http://lt.wiki.nebludyk.lt) and also separate databases. Seems to work fine :).

Today, the 5th of april, 2007, the MediaWiki engine has been started in order to have the right place for making our SOA project. Here we could meet, share ideas, post comments and so on... Stay tunned :).
